I was sewing for 3 hours straight today...I looked up from my machine and noticed the big huge monster mega man cave tv in front of me:
huh. I've been sewing here for 3 hours, and I could have listened to all of the doctors of daytime tv, or the trashy soap stories of Days of Our Lives. I just noticed this? What a perfect setup!
I realized how I've never even had the radio on while I'm quilting. I don't know what it is...the concentration, the silence. But I never have anything on.
You?
I tend to have my clothes on when I sew.
ReplyDeleteVery funny Little Island Quilting! I usually have the radio on when I'm sewing mostly for company.
ReplyDeleteI do it in silence...more peaceful that way, plus I can concentrate better so no stupid little mistakes from not paying attention :)
ReplyDeleteLol!
ReplyDeleteIf it is during the day it is either silent (if I'm alone) or the girls' TV shows. At night it is M watching TV or music when I'm home alone. The TV viewing angle isn't as good for me.
Most often silence. Sometimes book on tape.
ReplyDeleteunless i decide to listen to some music, i find that i often sew in silence as well. i have tried listening to podcasts, but it is hard to concentrate on two things at once.
ReplyDeleteI usually watch tv shows on DVD. If I need to focus, then I work in silence.
