Do you ever get into a rhythm of sewing...for me this week it's mega strip piecing, only to realize about 8 pieces in, that your bobbin thread has run out?
*blink*
please tell me I'm not the only one.
Random thought of the day: the silence in my sewing room grew louder today. ( well, aside from a snoring dog) There was no ticking of my wee little clock, the battery died. That thing is so darn loud
Today, I just may or may not be ripping apart all 36 blocks I have made. I'm not sure I like the 'scrappiness' of my blocks and am thinking colour specific may be better. *sigh*
You're not the only one! I do it frequently. My sewing machine changes tone markedly when it happens but sometimes I'm slow to notice it. Have you noticed that your last wound bobbin usually runs out when you're 6 inches from the end of your last seam? I get that a lot too!
ReplyDeleteIf the scrappy blocks you're referring to are the ones in the top pic, keep going - it looks beautiful. Otherwise, a solid sashing makes a world of difference!
LOVE the "heffalump" picture, what a great shot!
I'm lucky, my machine changes its tone when the bobbin runs out. I also have a handy little icon that pops up as it is getting low, but the change in tone gets me.
ReplyDeleteBut yesterday I knew I was getting low as I had 1 8 inch strip left to quilt. The last spot on an entire lap quilt. I was pushing it and my bobbin runs out at 2 inches to go. Argh!
That happened to me just the other night. Makes me crazy. I usually pay more attention, but I guess I was in the 'zone'.
ReplyDeleteThat happens to me all the time!
