I have just one machine and I use it for everything. It is a Bernina 820. I love machine quilting on it! It comes with the BSR(Stitch regulator)and it helps a lot...
ReplyDeleteAre you looking to buy a new machine?
Bernina 440QE with the BSR. Only thing I don't like is that it doesn't have an enormous throat (think that is the term used for the space through which you would yank a quilt when quilting). Is more expensive than other machines but think it is built to last. Before that had two different types of basic Brother machines and to compare them with a Bernina would be like night and day!
ReplyDeleteI quilt on a Juki TL-98E on a Hinterberg frame with Quilter's Cruise Control. I piece on a Janome 6600P.
ReplyDeleteSinger Confidence Quilter and No... I do not like machine quilting on it. I haven't tried another machine so I don't know if it's me or the machine. I'm kinda afraid to find out!
ReplyDeleteI have a Husqvarna Saphire 875 that i piece and machine on. never tried a long arm...they look scary
ReplyDeleteI use my Pfaff for everything. We noticed a new one with a much longer throat area, but I'm still pretty happy 5 years after getting this machine.
ReplyDeleteTonnes of long arms available at Quilt Canada this week! I just walk right by.
I have an Elna 7200. I'm sure it would do a splendid job of machine quilting...if I really gave it a chance. First I have to try something other than straight-line quilting. It has a nice big throat area though.
ReplyDeleteWe have an APQS Millennium drive by my hubby. If I absolutley have to domestic quilt, I prefer my Janome 6500 over my Pfaff QE 4.0.
ReplyDeleteJust my short and sweet two cents. Are you going down to Calgary for Quilt Canada?
I have an Elna 7200. It is awesome and I can't recommend it enough.
ReplyDeleteBrother Innovis QC 1000 with a longer throat area, I love it!
ReplyDeleteI'm using a husqvarna viking. I like it because my sister gave it to me - for free! I will keep liking it until I need another ;)
