So, in an effort to allow for our Aussie friends to participate, I'll post my stash giveaways now. There are three different giveaways...you can post for all of them or you preference.
In your comment, please let me know your preference, as well as tell me something that you know about or think about Canada! That's where I am! Those are the only rules - state your preference, and state something about Canada! :-)
**edited to add - if you don't have a blog, please leave me your email addy so I can contact you! I will be reviewing and drawing names on the morning of Feb 5!
1st giveway = assortment of earthy fabrics. Lots of fabric here, probably a good 2 metres at least in total! All 100% cotton.
Thomas the Tank Engine Christmas/Winter themed fabric - about 1.5metres in total! This is VIP fabric, not quilters quality, but for a kids theme, it's perfect!
Moda Shimmer Squares - these are taken from two charm packs. I kept the pastel light whites, etc, and here are mostly the darker, medium tones. Shimmer of gold and pearl. about 25 squares.
Enjoy! Good luck! Have fun!!
I really love the 1st choice, but would be happy with any...I've never been to Canada but hope to some day...thanks much & happy blogging & good luck with your giveaway!
ReplyDeleteWow! Love your selections.
ReplyDeleteThe Shimmer is perfect! How generous of you to do this. I am just learning to quilt, but someday, if I ever get good enough to have my own stash I would love to do a giveaway too!
ReplyDeleteI live in Maine and have visited Canada via The Scotia Prince....so beautiful!!!!!
I love the first choice! I am actually from Buffalo, so I feel Torontolove!
ReplyDeletemaumauisginger(at)gmail(dot)com
I've never been to Canada, but hope to visit someday. I believe that there are lots of farms and ranches, especially in western Canada.
ReplyDeleteI would choose the earthy fabrics! So beautiful!
I really like those shimmer squares!
ReplyDeleteI grew up in Wisconsin and went on a camping trip in Canada one summer when I was a kid. All I remember are all of the mosquitoes! We thought we had big ones in WI, but the Canadian ones were much bigger (and thirstier)!
I would also be happy with any, about Canada, it can get as cold there as it can here in Maine!!! Thanks for the chance, Stacey
ReplyDeleteluv2knit@roadrunner.com
Firstly let me introduce myself - I am Vanessa, from the UK and I love fabric.
ReplyDeleteSecondly would love any / all (greedy me noooooo) LOL seriously they are all great and would be happy with them all ! Esp the first.
And last but not least - what do I know about Canada?
The first thing I think of is space - lovely space ...and deep 'proper' snow !
HUGS - Vanessa
Hi Andrea,
ReplyDeleteMy preference would be for the Thomas fabric, as I could make something great for my DS.
I love Canada, I have visited twice (from Australia) and think Canadians are very friendly. I also liked the snow in the Rockies, but was then surprised about how warm it was in Summer in Winnipeg.
My email details are gabylec at hotmail dot com
P.S. that Rail Fence Baby Quilt is gorgeous.
Great blog! These are all so lovely...I would be happy with any of them.
ReplyDeleteThis is so fun...stash-busting, what a super concept. Count me in, and come by and join my giveaway.
Ohh, love the shimmer packs! One of my best friends is married to a Canadian, from B.C. Is that enough of a reference to Canada!! hehe.
ReplyDeleteOff to check out some more giveaways!
Selina.
What lovely fabric, I couldn't possible decided. My thoughts on Canada would be that I am always suprised when I met any Candians how much they are like Australians.
ReplyDeleteWhat great fabrics, please count me in.
ReplyDeletedanitp at xtra dot co nz
Oh, I love them all! I would love the first one, and my nephew loves Thomas so, i could make him something with the second!
ReplyDeleteCanada, hmmm. I only have been once. I came across the border from NY and Niagra falls looked terrible from the US, crossed the border and the Canadian view was gorgeous!
Oh I love Canada, my husband lived there for 11 months on farm exchange in Saskatchewan in 2001 and we spent 5 wks there in 2006 on our honeymoon, we rented a car and drove around and went to the Stampede and just loved it soooo much. Our little guy who is soon to turn 2 was even conceived there on the honeymoon (sorry if that's TMI). We still keep in touch with the Sask. family, they even came to our wedding.
ReplyDeleteNo preference, anything would feel lucky.
So lovely of Katy to help me find some more good reads ;). Okay this what I think I know about Canada there are French and English speaking areas, it is rude to call an Inuit an Eskimo, you have 4 seasons, snow and cold (lucky you!! I live in the tropics and sometimes a little cold would be lovely....).
ReplyDeleteI am fence sitting on preferences. I would be happy to receive any of those yummy fabric bundles. Thanks for such a lovely giveaway
Oh, it's so hard to choose a top pick, I like the charms best and then the earthy I think.
ReplyDeleteI know Canada is not too far north from me and therefor likely gets more snow than me which makes me say I am so sorry you are likely colder than me. I'm also thinking that there are western parts of the country that do not get as much or any snow, but I'm not solid on that one.
my contact info is in my profile
Oh my, aren't those lovely? MY friend and goddaughter now lives in Missisauga.
ReplyDeleteAaaww - you are such a good chickadee for posting early for us down-underers! Goodness, who would have thought giving fabric away could be so much fun! I'm doing it too, so do visit - ooh, and great blog, by the way :o)
ReplyDeleteToodles,
~Sonya
I like the shimmer packs! my in laws are Canadian so I know that there are good cooks from there. :)
ReplyDeleteAny of the prizes would make me very happy. I especially like choice 1.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance.
Sue Cahill (sbonetsue at yahoo dot com)
Ohhh Goodie, Please enter me in the draw and don't forget to enter my draw for 7 fat quarters! :)
ReplyDeletehttp://sew-funky.blogspot.com
I would happily take any one of your items. I love Canada. One of my bosses is from Canada, eh? Agawa Canyon is fabulous and so is the lake my husband's family has a cabin on.
ReplyDeleteHi Andrea,
ReplyDeleteThanks for starting early for us Aussies. Appreciate that and that it is on my birthday too. LOL.
My choice would be for the fabric in earthy tones. Oh how nice that is.
What I know about Canada is that your emblem is the Maple leaf and the Mounties (police) are from there.
Thanks
Lynda

lyndat65@tpg.com.au
Oh, I love the earthy tones! Something about Canada?? Hmmm, a lot of children's animation shown on ABC TV over here in Australia is made in Canada and I can't think of any examples to back me up! LOL
ReplyDeleteI love your fabric I love the earth tone. As for Canada it is the home to many great rock bands one being RUSH and numerous actors like Michael J. Fox. Hockey is king like Football is to us Texans. My dream as a kid was to visit there, but as my son graduates this summer I am taking him to Toronto to see the Blue Jays.
ReplyDeleteHi Andrea, I love your blog name!!! I too like to research things endlessly, which is a real trap when you have the tendency to procrastinate the way I do!!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteOkay, down to business. I would really love the shimmer packs, sooooo pretty! What do I know about Canada - well, you have two official languages, French and English. You are close to the US of A, but one dare not mix up the US and Canadian accents coz that will get one into trouble! Real Canadian Maple syrup tastes nothing like the fake stuff you can buy here - the real stuff is divine!!! I had a friend bring me some back when she visited your lovely Country. I'm hoping to get there one day. Finally, and I'm really hoping I get this right because I'm working from memory here, I believe Winnie the Pooh was named after Winnepeg in Canada. Now all of this rambling was straight off the top of my head without doing any research. Just imagine how long this post would be if I actually researched Canada!!!! LOL :-)
I'm giving away some fabric too, so please stop by and say hello!
I like the earthy fabrics and the shimmer squares. You would have to choose for me if my name is drawn. I visited Canada in 1985 (a l o n g time ago). We drove through the Windsor Tunnel and made our way to Niagra. I was struck by how clean the streets and neighborhoods were compared Des Moines, IA. Is it colder where you are? We were -11 C today.
ReplyDeleteShimmers!

id love to win..here in colorado...
ReplyDeleteI would love to win either the first pack or the last pack. Really I would love to win any of them LOL.
ReplyDeleteWhen I think of Canada I think cold. Maybe it's because I live at the other end of the spectrum - the border of the US and Mexico so it's always hot here.
Thanks so much!
dbkagrayson2002 [at] gmail [dot] com
Oh, they're all so lovely. So no preference!
ReplyDeleteCanada... where a big piece of my heart is...Canada is where my amazing Dad lives (hope to visit him soon), and my gorgeous Mum lived (RIP).
It's a beautiful country :-)
Ooooh, I love the 1st giveaway! The fabric looks gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to Canada but I heard it can be really really cold there!
I believe my email address is in my profile :)
Great selections! I would be thrilled to win any of them, but especially the first bundle.
ReplyDeleteI have always, always wanted to visit Canada. I don't know much about it but imagine that it is a beautiful place!
Thanks!
beingparticular(at)gmail(dot)com
since i sew for my toddler and nothing fancy, the thomas print is probably best, but i also like the first bundle a lot!
ReplyDeletemy husband lived in Canada for two years--when he came back he got us hooked on Wonderbars, perogies, and Ketchup chips! can't find those very often in the states...
Wow, lovely fabrics! Thanks for the giveaway. I would love the Thomas fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI will add a bit of trivia to the Canada part. The Flag of Canada is also known as the Maple Leaf.
I love all your fabrics, but the squares look great. I love Canada, especially since I live in Ontario. It's a beautiful place to live.
ReplyDeleteLeonard Cohen and Sarah MacGlaghlan? How's that for astounding general knowledge? The first bundle looks to be very handy for co-ordinating things.
ReplyDeleteI would like to enter your giveaway
ReplyDeleteWel, the only thing i know about Canada is that its a long way from here, and the winter olympics were held there once. I'd love to visit one day.
ReplyDeleteMy preferences are either the thomas (i have a very big thomas fan here) or the shimmer squares. Happy stash busting!
Ooooh love the trains and the shimmer pack. Please enter me for your giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI love all your stash! You are very generous!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the giveaway.
well, i'm from Canada and the only thing i can say right now is that it is COLD here!!!! brrrr.
ReplyDeletemy preference is the earthy fabrics.
texan_michael(AT)yahoo(DOT)com
I love the squares! I would just love to win them but, quite frankly, I would take anything ;-)
ReplyDeleteOh, and about Canada:
Do you know the TV series "Due South"? I know it's set in Chicago, but it involve Canadian Mounties ;-)
It's one of my earliest TV memories, watching this series in my childhood...
My son is a mad Thomas the Tank fan. Even though he's already at school. I don't think he'll ever grow out of that obsession.
ReplyDeletePick me!!! Please!!
Andi :-)
I love the first choice because of the colours. Please enter me in your stash giveaway draw.
ReplyDeleteIt's all yummo!
ReplyDeletePlease count me in for the Thomas fabrics - they'd be perefect for my nephew.
ReplyDeleteWhat do I know about Canada? It's north of the USA, has mounties, maples, Niagara Falls and is somewhere I've always wanted to visit - especially Whale Watching in Vancouver
Leah x
Shimmery Moda for me :) Well I've been to Canada for about 4 hours so of course I know all about it LOL Otherwise; Anne of Green Gables, snow, mountains, maple syrup, and Commonwealth Games competition.
ReplyDeleteI am here to bust your stash! I would love the chance to win stash number one please!
ReplyDeleteSadly the only things I know about Canada are maple syrup, hockey and beavers - very bad I know! (I'm from all the way down in Australia)
~Holly
http://twocheeseplease.livejournal.com
for me the shimmers
ReplyDeleteand Canada, have been there twice, the first time in Quebec, Montreal, ottawa and the 2nd in Nova Scotia, loved these places a lot, as the maple syrup, yummy yummy
Those first stack of fabrics look good to me!! Count me in!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the Thomas the Tank Engine Christmas/Winter themed fabric! Please count me in!
ReplyDeletePlease may I be included in your giveaway?
ReplyDeleteDon't know any small boys so would rather NOT have the Thomas fabric. But hey! it is a freebie so I'll be grateful for anything I may win :o)
Thanks so much.

xx
I love, love the Moda shimmer squares - I'm thinking cathedral windows.
ReplyDeleteCanada - about as far away from me as possible and still stay on this continent. I'm in Alabama. I once had a neighbor from Canada, and she has a lovely accent! Umm, maple leaf, beautiful scenery - that's about it.
beckwin@gmail.com
Hi Andrea
ReplyDeleteWell I don't know what part of Canada you're from but I'm from Toronto and last summer (June/July) we were the wettest place in Canada, what an honour. Count me in for either the earthy fabrics or the Moda shimmer squares. you are very generous in your offerings.
Please enter me! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love those autumnal shades, please enter my name.
ReplyDeleteoooo can I be included for the Tmoas fabric please as my little boy is Thomas MAD !!! My Canada fact is, my cousin Amanda moved out to Toronto 3 years ago and LOVES it!!! She is even used to the snow now :)
ReplyDeleteTwiggy x
Greetings from Sunny Perth in Western Australia. This is fun! I would love the first or last pack, but would settle for the other one as I have a new grandson and could use to make something for him. We had a guy from Edmonton come and stay with us; we invited him home for lunch after church and he stayed for six months. So I learned that Canada is really big and in some places there are more bears than people. email: s.downes@murdoch.edu.au Cheers Sam
ReplyDeleteMaple syrup! Red and white flag!
ReplyDeleteIf I were lucky enough to have a choice, I would choose the earthy fabrics. Thanks for a great giveaway!
Hi! I love the first bundle.
ReplyDeleteI live in Saskatchewan, and have also been in Abbotsford, BC, Thunder Bay and Cambridge Ontario. So I know that different regions of Canada are very different culturally, even though we're all one country. How's that?
What gorgeous and generous stash giveaways! I would love to win the 1st earthy fabric set or the 3rd charm set (I dont have a lil one to use the Thomas fabric for).
ReplyDeleteI have driven as far west in Canada as BC, as far north as the Yukon, and as far east as Quebec. I hope to see the east coast one day. Flying over Manitoba and Saskatchewan looks like a beautiful patchwork quilt with all of the beautiful green and yellow farmers fields.
I live in northern Ontario (the Soo).
Thanks for the opportunity to win such a fab stash!
hugs,
Heidi

Fantastic fabrics any of it would suit. What I know about Canada? We're sick of the $!%* snow in Toronto! Thanks for putting my name in your draw.

Count me in please, I love the earthy stash.
ReplyDeleteHmmm... Earthy or shimmer? Earthy? shimmer? Oh, I would be so delighted with either one!
ReplyDeleteI have never been to Canada. But I know it's very very cold. It's summer is as hot/cold as Auckland's (NZ) winter time! Or so my friend said... =)
My son is a Thomas freak...

Would love to have Thomas the Tank Engine. I have never been to Canada, but the thought of Canada is always link to maple leaves, autumn, falling leaves, the feeling of a bit of sadness and romantic. Haha...., I guess I have watched too much Korean drama.
ReplyDeleteI like the Thomas fabrics! my kids would love them! I live in Canada, I don't find anything too great about it but that's probably just because I haven't really been anywhere but close to home lol
ReplyDeleteI would be thrilled with any of your wonderful giveaways> Thanks for the chance to begin a new project!
ReplyDelete*smiles*

caoconnell2@shaw.ca
My choice would be in the order of your photos on the blog. Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteCanada has some great people living in it...including a few of my relatives...
very nice fabrics! please enter me for the earthy fabrics but i also like the shimmer squares.
ReplyDeletei'm going to be biased and say that Canada is the best country on Earth (because I'm a proud Canadian!!!). :)
fertawert AT yahoo DOT com
I love the shimmer squares! Please enter me! Thanks for the chance to win! southerner@aol.com
ReplyDeleteI'd love choice 1! I live very close to Canada and it has always been good to me!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for participating, your stash must be truly awe-inspiring! I like the Earthy bundle.
ReplyDeleteOK, it'll take a book - sorry. When I was about 13, I went on vacation with a friend and her family, and we went to Ottawa for Independence Day. It was wonderful - we walked on the cobblestone streets, gazed at the gorgeous architecture, and I tried - not very successfully - to speak French. The highlight of the day (for me anyhow) was when a pop star put on a show. The teens in the crowd were going crazy so it was obviously a big star. We asked a mounted policeman who it was, and his expression was priceless - he was completely shocked that we did not recognize Rene Simard! (I may have spelled that wrong). Anyhow, the image of that lovely policeman's face is the first thing I think about when I think about Canada. Well, and Jane Urquhart's "Away," which I obsessively read every autumn.
oooh, i love glitter/sparkle and darker / bright colors (aka not pastels) :) So obviously #3. Thanks!
ReplyDelete--Tiffany / sherunsaway22 at yahoo dot com
Please enter me in the draw for package 1! I love the tones of those fabrics.
ReplyDeleteCanada? A climate of extremes!! Today we're to have wind chills of -23C or so and by Sunday be up to 8C!
Hi fellow Canuck. I have seen most of this wonderful country of ours but have yet to see BC, Nfld, and the Territories. Maybe one day... I would love to win group one or three since I have no grandchildren yet to use the middle grouping of fabric. Yes, it is still cold here in TO - but sunny today. Where are you located?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win.
Dolores
The first and second are great.
ReplyDeleteWhat I know about Canada? Is it cheating if I'm Canadien? Canada is huge and beautiful and awsome. And I don't know where you are but Cold Lake Alberta is pretty frigging cold as well... :O)
the first group really attracted me. I went to Canada last year to visit Niagara Falls and then drove on up through the country. Very beautiful. This year I am going to the other side of Canada to Vancouver and Victoria. I'm looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteSweet, a fellow Canadian! I'm in Newfoundland, not having the nicest weather though! :)
ReplyDeleteI love #1 and #3, hard choice!
I love the earthy ones! As for Canada, I've been to both coasts but never the middle--clearly I need to take another trip!
ReplyDeleteI love the first group - so pretty, but #2 would be good, too - my godson LOVES Thomas. :) Thanks!
ReplyDeletepretty, pretty. love the selection!
ReplyDeletesarahsunkist@yahoo.com
Hmmm... hard decision! I think the shimmer fabrics would be my choice though. Thanks for the chance at this great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kerry
kerrykatiecakeskeb43@gmail.com
My son would be so happy if I had some Thomas the TAnk Engine fabric.
ReplyDeleteI know that Canada is above the US. I would assume that it is probably pretty cold there right now!
I like the first set of fabric the best. I've been to Calvary. I liked it and thought it was very pretty. It seemed like everyone I talked to was a huge hockey fan. :)
ReplyDeleteSomething I know about Canada? Hmm. I'm in the U.P. of Michigan, so not too far from Canada. One of the women at the LQS was telling me yesterday that the fabric in Canada is TWICE as expensive as in the states so the quilters over there like to head over the border to buy their fabric! I guess that makes you twice as generous as it seems! :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd I like the first bundle the best!
Nice assortments. Please count me in your draw.
ReplyDeleteI have been to Canada once, and enjoyed the trip so much. I would love to go again some day! I would love the 3rd set, the Shimmer Squares. Thank you for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteNancy
allibrary (at) aol (dot) com
I was born on the US side of the Canadian border, but spent most of my time on the Canadian side (that's where we went shopping, my parent's had their friends, our Doctor was there, etc.) I really identify more with Canadian things than US when it comes to my childhood- wathcing Mr. Dress-up & The Friendly Giant...now I live in France, but I miss vinegar chips and fries & gravy and all that good stuff! But not the snow...
ReplyDeleteCanada...well, I know Vancouver, BC is in Canada and I know I would love to visit there sometime. Friends that have been there always have the most gorgeous photos of parks and flowers:)
ReplyDeleteI would very much like to enter my name for a chance for the Moda Shimmer Squares...thanks very much:)
I like the first bundle the best-beautiful colors. I know Canada is cold, has beautiful scenery and I hope to visit someday.
ReplyDeleteLove group1. I've never visited your beautiful country but it's on the to do list. My son lived & worked there for a year & loved it
ReplyDeletePlease enter me in your great giveaway - for all three choices! They are all wonderful. One of my favorite TV shows is Flashpoint and is filmed in Canada I believe. Thank you, Kim
ReplyDeletekimberlybreid@hotmail.co,
I like the autumn fabrics, although the shimmer is a close second.
ReplyDeleteI always loved "This Hour Has 22 Minutes", and when my roommates convinced me to get basic cable years ago, I was so happy to realize that meant we got CBC and I could watch it sometimes.
Oh my goodness! The earthy fabrics are to die for and the shimmer fabrics are beautiful too! Please add my name in the hat for them.
ReplyDeleteI love #1 & 3! Hmm, growing up in WA state I've been to Victoria a couple times, and we camped up in Banff one time - BEAUTIFUL!
ReplyDeleteI love those shimmer squares!
ReplyDeleteHi!! lovely fabrics you have :D
ReplyDeletecount me in, please!! for either!
hugs from Portugal
Isabel
Please enter me....m.
ReplyDeleteThe first pack is lovely and I would not want to enter for Thomas the tank as there are no small children here. Having said that the 3 rd. pack is very nice also, but if I can only be entered in one then let it be the first one. Please come see what I've got to give away at my blog http://blogmemories.blogspot.com

my choice would be the Thomas fabrics since my son is mad-keen for that show, and something I know about Canada - you have the best maple syrup :) and you have the coolest accent ;P
ReplyDeleteI would love to be entered to win. Thank you! :-) I like the earthy fabrics. I think Canada is great! I live there too! :-) I am also having a giveaway that is part of the OWOH giveaway and would love for you to stop by and enter. :-)
ReplyDeletecount me in..
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh they're all lovely! I stumbled on the main post at Katy's blog about an hour and a half ago and keep getting sidetracked exploring the blogs vs. commenting for the contest. But I'll be back to read!
ReplyDeleteCanada, that is where one of my friends went when I was 10. I live in the netherlands and she moved to canada with her parents.
ReplyDeleteYour give away fabric is so lovely, but I like the shimmer sqaures most. But I know Rik my 2,5 year old son would lover to have items made of Thomas fabric.
